Won't fill with water

The door will not open until 3 minutes after the washer has stopped or the power has been turned off. This is a safety feature, not a malfunction. The door lock light turns off after the washer has drained. If water remains in the drum, the door may not open at all — drain the drum first.

Before servicing the drain pump, drain the water first. If the washer works, select the Spin course to drain. If the washer does not work, remove the laundry and scoop the remaining water out using a cup. Failing to do this will result in a flood when disconnecting hoses.

The most common cause of the LC (leak) error is not an actual plumbing leak but foreign material (underwear, wires, coins) clogging the drain bellows. During natural draining, the clog causes water to back up and trigger the leak sensor. Always check the bellows and debris filter before replacing any components.

These front-load washers require high-efficiency (HE) detergent. Using non-HE detergent causes excessive sudsing which leads to poor rinsing, wet loads at end of cycle, foul odors, and potentially the OC overflow error. Many consumer complaints about odor and wet clothes are actually caused by using the wrong detergent.
