Foreign material in drain bellows — common culprits

The most common items found clogging the drain pump bellows are underwear wires, coins, hair pins, rubber bands, bills, and cotton lint. During LC (leakage) troubleshooting, always check the bellows thoroughly for these items before suspecting a pump or sensor failure.

Water level sensor material code verification

An incorrect water level sensor (wrong material code) will cause 1C errors even though it appears identical and installs the same way. Always verify the material code matches before installing a replacement sensor. The frequency should be approximately 25.5 kHz with no load.

Winter freeze troubleshooting

In winter, multiple error codes (5C drain, OC overflow, TC1 temperature) can be caused by frozen water in the lines, not part failure. Before replacing parts, use a hair dryer to defrost hoses and check if the error clears. Consider recommending the customer relocate the unit to a warmer location if freezing is recurring.
