5 technician insights for the Samsung WF50R8500A Series Washers (2019)
Thermistor rubber packing leak prevention
When disassembling the thermistor, leave the rubber packing in place. When reassembling, push the thermistor all the way in — if it's not fully seated, water leakage will occur. There must be no gap between the rubber packing and the tub-back.
Wire clamp position matters for diaphragm assembly
When assembling the diaphragm to the frame front, the wire clamp bundle must be positioned at 5 o'clock, and assembly should start from 12 o'clock. The cutout position must be at 11 o'clock with each cutout above the redline. Incorrect positioning causes water leakage.
Drain remaining water before pump service
Before servicing the drain pump, drain the water first. If the washer still works, select the Spin course to drain. If the washer doesn't work, remove the laundry and scoop remaining water out with a cup. Forgetting this step results in a flood when disconnecting hoses.
Common drain pump clog items
The most common foreign materials found in clogged drain pumps are: rubber bands, coins, cotton lint, hair pins, and underwire from bras. Always check pockets before washing and use a mesh laundry bag for delicates with wires. This prevents the 5C drain error, which is one of the most common service calls.
