Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: HC1 (no display during normal operation)
What This Means
Heater element defective or burned out; Heater terminal improperly connected; Heater relay on Main PBA defective; Water level too low causing safety program to stop heater
What actually causes this:
The heating element burned out or has a loose connection
First Thing to Check
Check if your dishes feel cold after a cycle — if they do, the heater has likely failed
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check and reconnect heater connectors
- 2
2. Measure heater resistance between both ends — normal: approximately 12.14 to 14.16 ohms. Can also check between red wire of Heater Relay and black/yellow wires of Power Relay
- 3
3. Disconnect circuit breaker or power cable before measuring resistance
- 4
4. Check heater relay connections on Main PBA — measure voltage between Red wire of Heater Relay on base and White wire of CN101 — normal: 110-120V while operating
- 5
5. Check drain hose installation — improper installation may cause water level to drop, triggering heater safety cutoff
- 6
6. Check thermistor — see tC check code procedure
- 7
7. If heater tests normal, replace Main PBA
