Error Code tC

The water temperature sensor isn't reading correctly

Moderate

Address soon - your appliance may not work properly

Also displayed as: No display (tC in recall)

What This Means

Thermistor is out of order (open circuit or shorted); Thermistor connector is disconnected; Main PBA is defective; Wiring harness damage between thermistor and Main PBA

What actually causes this:

The temperature sensor wire came loose or the sensor itself went bad

First Thing to Check

Turn off the dishwasher, wait 30 seconds, and restart — if the error persists, the sensor needs service

Parts Involved

ThermistorMain PBA

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Check the connections for the thermistor connector — reconnect if loose

  2. 2

    2. Measure the voltage between both ends of the thermistor — Normal: 0.05V to 4.95V

  3. 3

    3. Measure the resistance between both ends of the thermistor (remove connector before measuring). Reference table: 5 deg C = 125.814k ohms, 10 deg C = 98.36k ohms, 15 deg C = 77.48k ohms, 20 deg C = 61.477k ohms, 25 deg C = 49.12k ohms, 30 deg C = 39.51k ohms, 35 deg C = 31.985k ohms, 40 deg C = 26.053k ohms, 45 deg C = 21.347k ohms, 50 deg C = 17.59k ohms, 55 deg C = 14.573k ohms, 60 deg C = 12.136k ohms, 65 deg C = 10.157k ohms, 70 deg C = 8.541k ohms

  4. 4

    4. If thermistor tests normal, replace Main PBA
