Error Code tC5
A secondary temperature sensor is giving bad readings
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: tC5
What This Means
Clogged lint screen restricting airflow and causing abnormal temperature readings; Restricted vent system causing heat buildup; Thermistor 2 resistance out of range (open or shorted)
What actually causes this:
Similar to the main temperature sensor error — usually caused by lint buildup restricting airflow, or the sensor itself has worn out.
First Thing to Check
Clean the lint screen thoroughly and make sure the exhaust vent path is clear.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check and clean the lint screen
- 2
2. Check if the vent system is restricted or blocked
- 3
3. Measure thermistor 2 resistance: should be 238.23K ohm at 25 degrees C (77 degrees F)
- 4
4. If thermistor resistance is out of range, replace the thermistor
