Error Code tE1
Outlet thermistor open or shorted
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: tE1
How to Fix
- 1
Enter diagnostic test mode by pressing POWER while pressing MORE TIME and LESS TIME simultaneously.
- 2
Press START/PAUSE once to initiate the thermistor test step.
- 3
Observe if tE1 is displayed — this indicates outlet thermistor open circuit.
- 4
Turn power off and discharge voltage before measuring resistance.
- 5
Disconnect the NA6 6-pin connector from the main PCB.
- 6
Short Pin 3 (Yellow Wire) and Pin 4 (Blue Wire) on the NA6 connector using a metal wire or jumper.
- 7
If controller now reads correctly, the thermistor harness or thermistor itself is faulty.
- 8
Remove the jumper and measure resistance between thermistor terminals with harness disconnected.
- 9
Compare measured resistance to Table 1: 50°F(10°C)=18.0kΩ, 60°F(16°C)=14.2kΩ, 70°F(27°C)=9.3kΩ, 80°F(21°C)=11.7kΩ, 90°F(32°C)=7.7kΩ, 100°F(38°C)=6.2kΩ, 110°F(43°C)=5.2kΩ, 120°F(49°C)=4.3kΩ, 130°F(54°C)=2.9kΩ, 140°F(60°C)=3.0kΩ, 150°F(66°C)=2.5kΩ, 160°F(71°C)=2.2kΩ.
- 10
If resistance is out of range: replace the thermistor.
- 11
If resistance is within range: check the harness-linking connector for damage or poor contact.
- 12
If harness is good and jumper test passed: replace the main PCB controller.
