Thermistor of blower housing — outlet thermistor open or shorted

Moderate

Address soon - your appliance may not work properly

Also displayed as: tE1

How to Fix

  1. 1

Enter diagnostic test mode: Unit in standby, press Power + More Time + Less Time simultaneously for 0.5 sec, then press START/PAUSE.

  2. 2

    If tE1 displays, disconnect power.

  3. 3

Locate the NA6 6-pin connector on the main PCB. Remove harness from thermistor assembly connector.

  4. 4

    Measure resistance between thermistor terminals and compare to Table 1: at 50F(10C)=18.0kΩ, 60F(16C)=14.2kΩ, 70F(27C)=9.3kΩ, 80F(21C)=11.7kΩ, 90F(32C)=7.7kΩ, 100F(38C)=6.2kΩ, 110F(43C)=5.2kΩ, 120F(49C)=4.3kΩ, 130F(54C)=2.9kΩ, 140F(60C)=3.0kΩ, 150F(66C)=2.5kΩ, 160F(71C)=2.2kΩ.

  5. 5

If resistance is NOT in range: Replace thermistor.

  6. 6

If resistance IS in range: Short NA6 Pin 1 (Yellow) and Pin 4 (Blue/Orange) with metal wire to controller. If controller responds YES, check harness-linking connector. If NO, check that control and 6-pin connector are properly connected, then replace controller.

  7. 7

Check harness connector between PCB and thermistor for secure connection.
