How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Turn off the dryer and call for service.

  2. 2

    2. Enter diagnostic mode: tE2 indicates thermistor shorted.

  3. 3

    3. Follow same thermistor resistance check procedure as tE1.

  4. 4

    4. Compare resistance to temperature chart (same values as tE1).

  5. 5

    5. If resistance does NOT match chart → separate harness from thermistor connector and re-check.

  6. 6

    6. If out of range → Replace thermistor.

  7. 7

    7. If in range → Check harness-linking connector for damage.

  8. 8

    8. Also note: tE2 error displayed — replace the steam generator assembly if steam-related.
