Error Code F-6
Oven is too hot — bad oven sensor or bad control (PCB); relay welded closed
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
What This Means
Oven temperature sensor shorted (reads too low, causing PCB to keep heating); Bake relay (RY57) welded closed on Power PCB; Broil relay (RY58) welded closed on Power PCB; Failed main PCB
How to Fix
- 1
Press CLEAR/OFF; allow oven to cool completely
- 2
Disconnect power and the main oven sensor connector
- 3
Measure oven sensor resistance: normal approximately 1.06 kOhm at 65F to 1.12 kOhm at 85F; if abnormal, replace main oven sensor
- 4
If sensor is normal, remove the Power relay PCB harness
- 5
Check bake relay (RY57) for weld damage by measuring resistance: welded = continuity, normal = infinite (open); if welded, replace Power PCB
- 6
Check broil relay (RY58) for weld damage in the same manner; if welded, replace Power PCB
- 7
If both relays test normal, replace main PCB
- 8
If replacing Power PCB resolves the relay weld issue but main PCB is still suspect, replace main PCB
