Error Code F-9
Bake failure — oven fails to reach temperature during bake cycle
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
What This Means
Gas valve not opening (bake valve coil failure); Bake igniter failure (open or high resistance); Oven sensor failure affecting temperature reading; Loose harness connection to igniter, gas valve, or sensor; Insufficient gas pressure; Failed Power PCB or main PCB
How to Fix
- 1
Press CLEAR/OFF; check gas flame and gas pressure at the supply
- 2
Disconnect power and check looseness of bake igniter connection, broil igniter connection, and gas valve connection
- 3
If connectors are loose, reconnect; if harness defective, replace or fix
- 4
Check resistance of bake igniter (globar): normal is approximately 45 to 400 Ohms at room temperature (measure after cooling); replace if out of range
- 5
Check resistance of broil igniter: same 45–400 Ohm range
- 6
Check resistance of bake gas valve coil: normal approximately 1 to 1.5 Ohms (measure at connector pins); replace valve if out of range
- 7
Check broil gas valve coil resistance: same 1–1.5 Ohm spec
- 8
Measure oven sensor resistance: normal 1.06 kOhm at 65F to 1.12 kOhm at 85F; replace sensor if abnormal
- 9
If all components test normal, replace Power PCB
- 10
If problem persists after Power PCB replacement, replace main PCB
- 11
Disconnect sensor from harness and verify resistance between sensor chassis and any connector pin reads infinite (open); if continuity exists, replace oven sensor
