Icing Room Sensor Error / Ice Maker Sensor Error

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Check CON3 connector (Pin 10 to Pin 9) for loose or disconnected connection between Main PCB and ice/icing sensor.

    2. If connector is loose or disconnected, reconnect or repair the connector and retest.

  3. 3

    3. Measure sensor resistance at CON3 Pin 10 to Pin 9. If resistance reads 0 ohms (short circuit), replace the sensor.

  4. 4

    4. Measure sensor resistance at CON3 Pin 10 to Pin 9. If resistance reads open/infinite (open circuit), proceed to step 5.

  5. 5

    5. Compare measured resistance against the temperature-resistance table. If out of range, replace the sensor.

  6. 6

    6. If resistance is within range, explain to customer that the unit is functioning normally.

  7. 7

    7. Check the sensor connection. If the sensor connection is abnormal, replace the refrigerator sensor. If abnormal, reconnect or repair the connector.
