Freezer Fan Motor Error
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
How to Fix
- 1
Reset the unit, then enter Test Mode 1 (press test button 1 time). Open the freezer door and check for airflow from the duct. If airflow is present (windy), go to step 5.
- 2
If no airflow is detected, go to step 4.
- 3
Attempt to rotate the fan blade by hand. If it feels sticky or binding, replace the fan motor.
- 4
Measure fan motor supply voltage at CON4 pins 20–19 in Test Mode 1. Expected: 11.4–12.6 V. If voltage is out of range, replace the Main PCB.
- 5
Measure fan feedback voltage at CON4 pins 18–19 in Test Mode 1. Expected: not 0 V or 5 V. If the reading is 0 V or 5 V (no signal), replace the fan motor.
- 6
Measure fan PWM voltage at CON4 pins 17–19 in Test Mode 1. Expected: not 0 V or 5 V. If reading is 0 V or 5 V (no PWM), replace the Main PCB.
- 7
If all voltages are correct and no fault is found, explain normal operation to customer.
