LG Refrigerators

Error Code E FS

Defect of freezer sensor

Moderate

Address soon - your appliance may not work properly

How to Fix

  1. 1

Check for a loose or disconnected connector between Main PCB and the freezer sensor at CON8.

  2. 2

If connector is disconnected or loose, reconnect or repair the connector.

  3. 3

With power off, measure sensor resistance at CON8 pins 22-21. If resistance is 0 ohm (shorted), replace the sensor.

  4. 4

If resistance is open/infinite (OL), go to step 6.

  5. 5

If resistance is a finite non-zero value, compare against the temperature-resistance table: -22°F/-30°C=40k, -13°F/-25°C=30k, -4°F/-20°C=23k, 5°F/-15°C=17k, 14°F/-10°C=13k, 23°F/-5°C=10k, 32°F/0°C=8k. If value is out of range for the ambient temperature, replace sensor.

  6. 6

If resistance is normal for temperature, check the wiring harness integrity between sensor and PCB. If harness is good, replace the main PCB.
