Error Code E CH

High side cycle leakage — detected by high side refrigerant leak, restriction, bad compressor, or bad valve

Moderate

How to Fix

  1. 1

Step 1: Confirm error code E CH via SVC App Step 1 or temperature gun. If temperatures are normal, it may be a customer perception issue.

  2. 2

Step 2: Check PCB voltage output to confirm PCB is not the fault. If PCB is bad, replace PCB.

  3. 3

Step 3: Use SVC App Step 2 to measure high/low side pressure and equalization recovery time. If recovery takes more than 15 minutes, restriction is suspected.

  4. 4

Step 4: If equilibrium pressure is above 20 psi, compressor is suspected bad — perform compressor check and replace if confirmed.

  5. 5

Step 5: If equilibrium pressure is below 20 psi, refrigerant leak is confirmed. Charge with nitrogen for leak test.

  6. 6

Step 6: Check high-pressure side parts (condenser, drier, compressor discharge pipe) with bubble solution or refrigerant leak detector. If leak found, replace the leaking part and drier.

  7. 7

Step 7: If no leak found on high-pressure side, inspect low-pressure side (evaporator, suction pipe).

  8. 8

Step 8: If no leak found on either side, install UV drier and revisit to locate leak under UV light.

  9. 9

Step 9: After sealed system repair, error clears automatically when freezer reaches 14°F.
