Error Code E CH
High Side Cycle Leakage — detected by refrigerant leak, restriction, bad compressor, bad valve, etc. on the high-pressure side
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: E CH
How to Fix
- 1
Step 1: Use LG SVC App Step 1 jig to determine if issue is compressor fault, sealed system problem, or normal (customer emotional fault). If no SVC App, use a temperature gun to check temperatures.
- 2
Step 2: Check PCB output voltages to rule out PCB failure.
- 3
Step 3: Measure high-side pressure (at drier) and low-side pressure (at compressor process pipe). Time how long equalization takes. If equalization takes more than 15 minutes, the system is restricted.
- 4
Step 4: If equalization pressure is below 40 psi, refrigerant is low — perform leak test using refrigerant or nitrogen.
- 5
Step 5: Check high-pressure side components (condenser, drier) for leaks. If leak found, replace affected parts along with the drier.
- 6
Step 6: If no high-side leak found, check low-pressure side (evaporator, suction pipe) for leaks.
- 7
Step 7: After sealed system repair, the error will clear automatically once freezer temperature drops to 14°F or below.
- 8
Step 8: Use UV dye in drier for next visit leak verification.
- 9
Step 9: Force-delete error code after confirmed repair using F key + R key pressed 3 times with door open.
