Refrigerator sensor defect — short-circuit or disconnection of refrigerator sensor

How to Fix

1. 1

   Step 1: Check if the connector between Main PCB and refrigerator sensor is disconnected or loose. If yes, reconnect or repair the connector.

   Step 2: Measure sensor resistance at CON8 pins 20 to 19. If resistance is 0 Ω (short), replace the sensor.

   Step 3: If resistance is open (infinite/OL), proceed to Step 6.

   Step 4: Compare measured resistance to the temperature/resistance table for refrigerator/defrost sensor. If resistance does not match expected value, replace the sensor.

   Step 5: If resistance is within spec, explain to customer (normal operation).

   Step 6: Check the sensor harness connection. If the sensor connection is normal, replace the refrigerator main PCB. If not, reconnect or repair the connector.
