Error Code E CL
Low Side Cycle Leakage — Refrigerant Leak / Sealed System Problem
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
What This Means
Low side refrigerant leak; Bad compressor; Extended door open time
How to Fix
- 1
Step 1: Use SVC App Step 1 to check evaporator temperature — determine if sealed system problem or normal operation.
- 2
Step 2: If no SVC App, use temperature gun to check evaporator temperature change.
- 3
Step 3: Check PCB voltage — if faulty, replace PCB.
- 4
Step 4: Measure high and low side pressures and recovery time — if recovery exceeds 15 minutes, restriction is present.
- 5
Step 5: If equalization pressure is above 20 psi, compressor is defective — replace compressor.
- 6
Step 6: If equalization pressure is below 20 psi, refrigerant has leaked — locate leak.
- 7
Step 7: Inspect low pressure side parts first: evaporator, suction pipe. If leak found, replace drier and compressor.
- 8
Step 8: If no low side leak found, check high pressure side: condenser, drier. If leak found, replace part and drier.
- 9
Step 9: After repair, error code clears when freezer temperature reaches 14°F.
- 10
Step 10: Optionally install UV drier for next visit leak verification.
