Freezer Fan Motor Error — BLDC Fan Motor
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
What This Means
No feedback signal from freezer fan motor for more than 65 seconds; Fan motor mechanically stuck (sticky bearings); Defective BLDC motor drive IC or transistor; Defective Main PCB fan motor output
How to Fix
- 1
Step 1: Reset unit and enter Test Mode 1 (press test button 1 time).
- 2
Step 2: Measure fan motor supply voltage at CON4 pins 20-19 — expected 11.4 to 12.6V; if absent, replace Main PCB.
- 3
Step 3: Open freezer door and check airflow — if windy, proceed to Step 4; if no airflow, rotate fan by hand.
- 4
Step 4: Rotate fan motor blade by hand — if sticky or binding, replace fan motor.
- 5
Step 5: Measure fan feedback voltage at CON4 pins 18-19 — expected NOT 0 or 5V; if 0V or 5V, replace fan motor.
- 6
Step 6: Measure fan PWM voltage at CON4 pins 17-19 — expected NOT 0 or 5V; if 0V or 5V, replace Main PCB.
- 7
Step 7: If all checks are normal, explain to customer.
