LG Refrigerators

Error Code E CL

Low Side Cycle Leakage — detected by low amplitude cycle variation; caused by low-side refrigerant leak, bad compressor, or extended door-open condition

Moderate

How to Fix

  1. 1

Step 1: Use SVC App (Step 1) to determine if fault is compressor, sealed system, or customer complaint. If no SVC App, use temperature gun.

  2. 2

Step 2: Check PCB voltage to confirm PCB is not the source of the problem.

  3. 3

Step 3: Measure high and low side pressures and record equalization recovery time. If recovery takes more than 15 minutes, system is restricted.

  4. 4

Step 4: Check equalization pressure. If below ~40 psi, refrigerant is undercharged — perform leak test.

  5. 5

Step 5: Use nitrogen or R134a to perform leak test (R600a is flammable — do not use for leak testing).

  6. 6

Step 6: Check low-pressure parts (evaporator, suction pipe) for leaks first.

  7. 7

Step 7: If no low-pressure leak found, check high-pressure parts (condenser, drier).

  8. 8

Step 8: Repair leak, replace drier, recharge with R600a (55g). Error clears automatically once freezer reaches 14°F.

  9. 9

Step 9: If sealed system temperatures are normal and error persists, press F key + R key 3 times with door open to force-delete error.

Still Not Working?

Error clears automatically when freezer reaches 14°F after repair. Forced deletion: press F key + R key 3 times with door open.
