Error Code E CH
High Side Cycle Leakage — Sealed System Problem
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: CH E
How to Fix
- 1
Use SVC App Step 1 to determine if this is a compressor or sealed system problem, or a normal (customer emotional) fault. If no SVC App, use a temperature gun to check evaporator temperature.
- 2
Check PCB output voltage to rule out PCB failure. If PCB is bad, replace PCB.
- 3
Measure time for pressure equalization between high side (drier) and low side (compressor process pipe) after power off. If equalization takes more than 15 minutes, system is restricted.
- 4
If equalization pressure is above 40 psi, refrigerant is present — suspect bad compressor. Replace compressor.
- 5
If equalization pressure is 40 psi or less, refrigerant has leaked. Proceed to leak testing.
- 6
Check high pressure side parts (condenser, drier, compressor discharge pipe) for leaks using bubble solution or refrigerant leak detector.
- 7
If no high side leak found, check low pressure side parts (evaporator, suction pipe).
- 8
Repair any leak found, replace all leaking parts plus the drier.
- 9
After repair, wait until freezer reaches 14F or below — error code will clear automatically.
- 10
If temperature is normal and E CH persists, use forced deletion: press F key + R key 3 times with door open.
- 11
Use UV drier on next visit to verify no further leaks via UV light and UV goggles.
