Freezer Sensor Error

Moderate

Also displayed as: FS E

How to Fix

  1. 1

Check for a loose connection between Main PCB and sensor at CON4 pins 18-17.

  2. 2

If connector is disconnected or loose, reconnect or repair the connector.

  3. 3

Check sensor resistance at CON4 pins 18-17. If resistance reads 0 ohm (sensor short), replace the sensor.

  4. 4

Check sensor resistance again. If resistance reads OL/infinity (sensor open), replace the sensor.

  5. 5

If resistance reads short or open, replace sensor. If resistance is normal, check temperature vs. resistance table (e.g., at -22F/-30C expect 40k ohm).

  6. 6

If temperature vs. resistance correlation is correct (no problem), explain to customer — refrigerator is operating normally.

  7. 7

Check the sensor connection physically. If connection is normal but problem persists, replace the refrigerator main PCB.
