Error Code E CH
High-Side Cycle Leakage — detected by compressor high-side refrigerant leak, restriction, bad compressor, or bad 3-way valve
Moderate

How to Fix
- 1
Note the error code and use the LG SVC App Step 1 to determine if the sealed system is at fault or if it is a customer/usage issue.
- 2
If SVC App is not available, use a temperature gun to check evaporator temperature.
- 3
Check PCB output voltage at CON201 to confirm Main PCB is not the cause.
- 4
After power off, measure the time for high and low side pressures to equalize. If equalization takes more than 15 minutes, a restriction is present.
- 5
If equalization pressure is 40 psi or more, the refrigerant charge is normal — the compressor is likely defective. Replace the compressor.
- 6
If equalization pressure is below 40 psi, refrigerant has leaked. Perform leak test on high-pressure parts first: condenser, drier, compressor discharge pipe.
- 7
If no high-side leak found, check low-pressure parts: evaporator, suction pipe.
- 8
Replace leaking parts along with the drier after any sealed system repair.
- 9
After repair, the error code clears automatically once freezer temperature drops to 14F or below (typically within 1 day).
- 10
To force clear the error code: press F key + R key 3 times with door open.
- 11
For follow-up visits, install a UV drier to locate future leaks.
