Error Code E IF
Icing Fan (In-door Icemaker compartment BLDC fan) Error — feedback signal absent for more than 65 seconds during operation
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: E IF
How to Fix
- 1
Reset the unit and enter Test Mode 1 (press test button 1 time on Main PCB).
- 2
Open the freezer door and check air flow from the icing fan. If airflow is present (windy), go to step 4.
- 3
If no airflow, physically rotate the fan blade by hand. If blade feels sticky/seized, replace the icing fan motor.
- 4
Measure fan motor supply voltage at CON3 pins 24~21. Expected 11.4~12.6V.
- 5
If supply voltage is not 11.4~12.6V, replace the Main PCB.
- 6
If supply voltage is correct, measure fan feedback voltage at CON3 pins 22~21. If voltage reads 0V or 5V (fixed), replace the motor.
- 7
Measure fan PWM voltage at CON3 pins 23~21. If voltage reads 0V or 5V (fixed), replace the Main PCB.
- 8
If all voltages are normal and fan runs freely, explain normal operation to customer.
