Error Code PC
The water distribution vane that directs spray is not moving to the correct position
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: PC (no display during normal operation)
What This Means
Motor gear (synchronous motor) defective; Sensor vane defective; Vane mechanism blocked by foreign object; Distributor motor defective; Micro switch defective
What actually causes this:
The motor that controls which nozzle gets water has gotten stuck or its position sensor failed
First Thing to Check
Try running a normal cycle — if dishes on one rack are not getting clean, this motor may need attention
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check connections for the distributor motor and micro switch connectors — reconnect
- 2
2. Measure distributor motor coil resistance (disconnect before measuring) — normal: approximately 3.6 to 4.0k ohms
- 3
3. Check micro switch position sensing — check conduction between brown and violet wire. Micro switch on: Short. Micro switch off: Open. Signal should alternate on/off. NG if stuck on or off for 120 seconds
- 4
4. For vane motor: measure coil resistance between Red and Black wire (CCW) and White and Black wire (CW) — normal: approximately 1.625 to 1.796k ohms
- 5
5. Check sensor vane — Brown to Black wire: Sensor on = 0V, Sensor off = 5V
- 6
6. Adjust Cam Assembly and identify fault — replace if faulty
- 7
7. Check half load / vane relay operation — measure voltage between CN401 pin 3 (Brown) and CN101 pin 1 (White) — normal: 110-120V while operating
- 8
8. For vane motor relay: CCW = CN401 pin 8 (Red) to CN101 White, CW = CN401 pin 7 (White) to CN101 White — normal: 110-120V while operating
- 9
9. Check the Power Relay — see Power Relay check procedure
