Error Code tC
Your dryer's temperature sensor isn't reading correctly
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: tC
What This Means
Clogged case filter restricting airflow and causing abnormal temperature readings; Thermistor 1 resistance out of range (open or shorted); Damaged or disconnected thermistor wiring
What actually causes this:
Usually a clogged lint screen or blocked exhaust vent — restricted airflow causes the sensor to misread temperatures.
First Thing to Check
Pull out the lint screen and clean off all the lint, then check that your exhaust vent hose isn't kinked or blocked.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Clean the case filter
- 2
2. Measure Thermistor 1 resistance: should be 50kOhm at 25C (77F)
- 3
3. If resistance is out of range (very low or very high), replace Thermistor 1
- 4
4. Check wiring between thermistor and main PCB for damage or loose connections
