A secondary temperature sensor is giving bad readings
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: tC5
What This Means
Clogged lint screen restricting airflow; Restricted vent system affecting vent temperature sensor; Vent thermistor 2 resistance out of range (open or shorted); Disconnected or damaged vent thermistor wiring harness
What actually causes this:
Similar to the main temperature sensor error — usually caused by lint buildup restricting airflow, or the sensor itself has worn out.
First Thing to Check
Clean the lint screen thoroughly and make sure the exhaust vent path is clear.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check and clean the lint screen
- 2
2. Inspect the exhaust vent system for restrictions or blockages
- 3
3. Disconnect harness and measure resistance between Yellow wire Pin 2 and White wire Pin 7
- 4
4. Measure vent thermistor 2 resistance: should be approximately 238.23K ohms at 25 degrees C (77 degrees F)
- 5
5. If resistance is out of range, replace vent thermistor 2
