What This Means
Restricted vent system causing excessive heat buildup; Thermistor resistance out of range; Heater malfunction; Thermostat failure; Motor not running properly (detected in Smart Install mode)
What actually causes this:
Most often caused by a clogged exhaust vent that traps hot air inside the dryer, or the heating element has burned out.
First Thing to Check
Check your exhaust vent — disconnect it from the back of the dryer and look for lint buildup inside.

3. Measure thermistor resistance: should be 10K ohm at 25 degrees C (77 degrees F)

4. Check thermostat 1, 2, and 3 resistance: should be < 1 ohm (infinity means replace)

5. Check heater resistance: DUAL heater -- 13 ohm between PIN 2-3, 34 ohm between PIN 1-2; SINGLE heater -- 10 ohm between PIN 1-3

6. If resistance is infinity on heater, replace heater assembly
