What This Means
Clogged lint filter restricting airflow and causing heat buildup; Restricted exhaust vent system; Thermistor failure causing incorrect temperature readings; Heater malfunction; Thermostat failure
What actually causes this:
Most often caused by a clogged exhaust vent that traps hot air inside the dryer, or the heating element has burned out.
First Thing to Check
Check your exhaust vent — disconnect it from the back of the dryer and look for lint buildup inside.

3. Enter Line Test Mode to further diagnose the issue

4. Measure thermistor resistance: should be 10KΩ at 25°C (77°F)

5. Check thermostat resistance: should be < 1Ω (infinity means replace)

6. Check heater resistance: DUAL heater — 13Ω between PIN 2-3, 34Ω between PIN 1-2
