Error Code R-1-1
The ice maker's temperature sensor is not reading properly
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: R-1-1 (LED blink pattern)
What This Means
Ice Maker sensor housing separated; Sensor connector contact error; Sensor wire disconnection; Sensor short circuit; Sensor reading above 149°F or below -58°F
What actually causes this:
A wire came loose from the ice maker sensor, or the sensor itself went bad
First Thing to Check
Try unplugging the refrigerator for 5 minutes and plugging it back in — if the error returns, it needs service
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check if Main PCB Connector CN90 is inserted correctly
- 2
2. Check if the Ice Maker Sensor unit is normal by measuring resistance at CN90 #3 to #4 — compare with temperature table (5.0 kΩ at 77°F / 25°C)
- 3
3. Measure voltage between Main PCB Connector CN90-#4 (White) and REG1 Heat Sink — should be between 0.6V and 4.6V
- 4
4. Check input voltage of IC10 MICOM #51 — should match CN90-#4 voltage
- 5
5. If all normal, recheck bad contact of connector
