What This Means

Refrigerator sensor housing separated; Sensor connector contact error; Sensor wire disconnection; Sensor short circuit; Sensor reading above 149°F or below -58°F

What actually causes this:

The sensor wire came loose or the sensor itself failed

First Thing to Check

Try unplugging the refrigerator for 5 minutes and plugging it back in to reset

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Check if Main PCB Connector CN30 is inserted correctly

  2. 2

    2. Check if R Sensor unit is normal by measuring resistance at CN30 #3 to #8 — compare with temperature table

  3. 3

    3. Measure voltage between Main PCB Connector CN30-#3 (Red) and REG1 Heat Sink — should be between 0.6V and 4.6V

  4. 4

    4. Check input voltage of IC10 MICOM #53 — should match CN30-#3 voltage

  5. 5

    5. If all normal, recheck bad contact of connector
