What This Means

Sensor housing separated from compartment; Incomplete contact at sensor connector; Open-circuited wire in sensor circuit; Short-circuit in sensor wiring; Defective thermistor NTC

What actually causes this:

The freezer temperature sensor came loose or has a broken wire

First Thing to Check

Open the freezer compartment and look for a loose wire or sensor tab on the wall

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Measure voltage between Main PCB CN20 pins 10 and 12

  2. 2

    2. Voltage should be within 4.5V to 1.0V range for normal operation

  3. 3

    3. Check sensor connector for loose or corroded pins

  4. 4

    4. Inspect sensor wiring for damage or separation

  5. 5

    5. If voltage is out of range, test thermistor resistance against temperature table

  6. 6

    6. Check for open or short circuits in wiring harness
