Error Code 12C
The fridge temperature sensor isn't reading correctly
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: 12C
What This Means
Sensor housing separated from compartment; Incomplete contact at sensor connector; Open-circuited wire in sensor circuit; Short-circuit in sensor wiring; Defective thermistor NTC
What actually causes this:
The fridge temperature sensor came loose or has a broken wire
First Thing to Check
Open the fridge compartment and look for a loose wire or sensor tab on the wall
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Measure voltage between Main PCB CN20 pins 9 and 11
- 2
2. Voltage should be within 4.5V to 1.0V range for normal operation
- 3
3. Check sensor connector for loose or corroded pins
- 4
4. Inspect sensor wiring for damage or separation
- 5
5. If voltage is out of range, test thermistor resistance against temperature table
- 6
6. Check for open or short circuits in wiring harness
