Error Code 81C
The compressor motor won't start
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: 81C
What This Means
AC input voltage too low (below 95V); Compressor terminal short-circuit; Inverter PBA IPM short-circuit; Compressor wiring damaged; Defective compressor; PCB soldering defect
What actually causes this:
The compressor is broken or the inverter control failed
First Thing to Check
Check if you hear a humming sound from the compressor area
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check AC input voltage — should be 110-127V
- 2
2. Check COMP terminals (U, V, W) for short-circuit
- 3
3. Measure for DC 13.5V minimum at IPM pins
- 4
4. Check PCB soldering on inverter part
- 5
5. Inspect compressor wire connections for damage
- 6
6. If voltage and soldering normal, replace Inverter PBA
- 7
7. If issue persists, replace compressor
