Error Code 83C
The compressor motor rotor position sensor failed
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: 83C
What This Means
Compressor motor wiring disconnected (U, V, W); Compressor phase voltage loss; IPM position sensing circuit failure; PCB soldering defect; Defective compressor
What actually causes this:
The compressor wires are loose or the inverter can't detect motor position
First Thing to Check
The compressor won't start at all
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check compressor wire connections (U, V, W terminals)
- 2
2. Verify all wires are firmly connected
- 3
3. Check PCB bottom side for cold solder joints
- 4
4. Measure AC voltage at compressor terminals during startup
- 5
5. If wiring and soldering normal, replace Inverter PBA
- 6
6. If error persists, check compressor rotor position sensor
