Error Code 13E
Door area humidity sensor is faulty or lost power
Minor
Usually easy to fix - may resolve on its own
Also displayed as: 13E
What This Means
Humidity sensor connector not properly seated; Open or short circuit in humidity sensor wire; Failed humidity sensor; 5V supply to sensor connector missing
What actually causes this:
The sensor on the hinge/door that measures external humidity has failed; the French anti-condensation heater will default to full-on to prevent door sweating.
First Thing to Check
Open the fridge door and check that the humidity sensor connector (on the upper hinge area) is firmly seated — a loose clip is the most common cause.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Check Main PCB connectors CN30 and CN50 are properly inserted
- 2
Measure voltage between humidity sensor connector pins 1 and 2; should be 5V (supply)
- 3
Measure output voltage at sensor connector pins 1 and 4; normal range is 1V–4V (909mV at 0% RH to 3683mV at 100% RH)
- 4
If output is below 0.6V or above 4.7V, sensor is in error state
- 5
Measure Main PCB CN30 pins 8 and 11; should be within 4.1V–0.8V
