Error Code 40E
Ice room fan motor stopped or lost feedback signal
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: 40E
What This Means
Defective ice room fan motor; Wire disconnected to ice room fan; No pulse feedback signal from motor
What actually causes this:
The small fan that keeps air circulating in the ice storage compartment has failed or its wiring is loose.
First Thing to Check
Confirm the ice room temperature is below -13°C (ice must be present and freezing) before diagnosing this as a fault — the fan only runs when cold enough.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Verify compressor is running
- 2
Measure voltage between Main PCB GND and CN52 pin 1; should be DC 8V–12V during operation
- 3
Check if voltage at CN52 pin 1 alternates between 8–12V and below 2V (motor retry pattern)
- 4
Check pulse signal at CN74 pin 7 (Ice Room FAN feedback)
- 5
Confirm ice room temperature is within operating range: Fan ON at -13°C, Fan OFF at -3°C
