What This Means

Connector at Main PCB CN51 slipped out; Open circuit (∞ Ohm) in heater wire; Short circuit (0 Ohm) in heater

What actually causes this:

The heater that keeps the ice dispenser chute from freezing shut has a broken wire or failed heating element.

First Thing to Check

Disconnect CN51 from the Main PCB and check resistance between pins 4 and 6 with a multimeter — infinite resistance means the wire has broken.

How to Fix

    Remove Main PCB CN51 connectors from PCB

  2. 2

    Measure continuity between CN51 pin 4 and CN51 pin 6

  3. 3

    0 Ohm = heater short; ∞ Ohm = wire open or connector slipped
