Error Code 53E
Door handle anti-condensation heater circuit is open
Minor
Usually easy to fix - may resolve on its own
Also displayed as: 53E
What This Means
Handle heater wire open circuit; Connector at Main PCB CN51 pins 1-2 not connected
What actually causes this:
The tiny heater wire inside the door handle area that prevents sweat-condensation has broken — door may get dewy in humid weather.
First Thing to Check
With a multimeter check continuity between CN51 pins 1 and 2 — infinite resistance means the heater wire is broken somewhere in the handle.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Separate Main PCB CN51 wires from PCB
- 2
Measure resistance between CN51 pin 1 and pin 2
- 3
0 Ohm = shorted heater; ∞ Ohm = open wire or disconnected
