Error Code CIRCUIT_FAN_ERROR
Condenser fan in the machine compartment is not running
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: F and R blink
What This Means
C-FAN motor failure; Obstruction in machine compartment; Wiring bad contact at CN40; MAIN PCB failure
What actually causes this:
The condenser fan that cools the compressor area has stopped, which will cause the compressor to overheat and the refrigerator to stop cooling.
First Thing to Check
Pull the refrigerator out and look into the machine compartment at the back to see if the condenser fan is spinning when the compressor runs.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Check voltage at MAIN PCB CN40 pin 15 (W/GRY) and pin 13 (S/BLU): should alternate DC7~12V and below DC2V
- 2
Check pulse at CN40 pin 11 (C) for ~2~3V
- 3
Verify external temperature is above 66.2°F (19°C); C-FAN may not run in cold ambient
This Error Applies To
