Error Code FLEX_ZONE_DAMPER_HEATER
FlexZone damper anti-freeze heater circuit is open or shorted
Minor
Usually easy to fix - may resolve on its own
Also displayed as: F or R blinks (OPTION)
What This Means
Heater element open or shorted; Wiring disconnection at CN40; Bimetal open
What actually causes this:
The small heater that keeps the FlexZone damper from icing up has failed, which can cause the damper to freeze stuck in one position.
First Thing to Check
Disconnect CN40 and measure resistance across pins 25 and 27; expect roughly 135 ohms if the heater is good.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Disconnect MAIN PCB CN40 connector
- 2
Measure resistance between CN40 pins 25 and 27
- 3
Expected: 135 ohm ± 7% (manual states 135; check list states 144 ohm ± 7%)
- 4
0 ohm = heater short; ∞ ohm = wire/bimetal open
- 5
Check MICOM pin #91 voltage: 3.5V~4.8V at power ON or heater off; 0V during heater operation
