Error Code R-1-2
Refrigerator compartment temperature sensor is out of range or faulty
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: R-1-2 (LED blink pattern on panel)
What This Means
Sensor connector at CN30/CN76 loose or disconnected; Sensor wire open or shorted; Sensor temperature reading above 149°F (65°C) or below -58°F (-50°C); Failed sensor unit (502AT thermistor)
What actually causes this:
Sensor connector has vibrated loose, or the sensor failed from age or moisture exposure.
First Thing to Check
Open the fridge and firmly push both ends of the sensor connector at CN30 and CN76 on the main board.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Check MAIN PCB connectors CN30 and CN76 are fully seated
- 2
Measure resistance between CN30 #6 (White) and CN76 #1 (Gray) — compare to DATA1 temperature table
- 3
Measure voltage at CN30 #6 (White) vs REG1 HEAT SINK ground — should be 0.6V to 4.6V
- 4
Verify IC01 MICOM pin #76 input voltage is within normal range
- 5
Check SENSOR MARKING #3 (R311) on PCB for solder defects
