What This Means
IPM internal fault; Overcurrent condition; IPM voltage too low (under 13.5V); Solder defect on inverter PCB
What actually causes this:
Low DC 15V supply to the IPM is the most frequent cause, often from a failing SMPS board or poor solder joint.
First Thing to Check
Check that DC 12V and 5V outputs from the SMPS board are within normal range — if SMPS output is low, the IPM will fault.
