What This Means
Defrost heater open-circuited; Temperature fuse blown; Bimetal thermostat defective; Short circuit in heater
What actually causes this:
Temperature fuse blew from overheating during defrost, or the heater element itself failed.
First Thing to Check
Remove the Cool Select Room evaporator cover and inspect the defrost heater assembly for visible damage or a blown temperature fuse.

Disconnect MAIN PCB CN70 wire and measure resistance between CN70 pin 3 and pin 1

0 Ohm = heater short circuit; check for short

∞ Ohm = open wire or blown temperature fuse

Check bimetal thermostat (BT-121-M): Off 140°F/60°C, On 104°F/40°C
