What This Means

Connector slipped out or open contact; Wire cut or short circuited; Defective thermistor; Heater stays on longer than 80 minutes during defrost cycle

What actually causes this:

Defrost heater relay fails causing continuous heating or thermal fuse opens

First Thing to Check

Measure heater resistance with ohmmeter at CN70 brown/black

How to Fix

  1. 1

    Separate MAIN PCB CN70 wire from PCB

  2. 2

    Read resistance between CN70 Brown and Black

  3. 3

    If 0 Ohm check heater for short

  4. 4

    If open check wire and thermal fuse
