What This Means

Connector slipped out or open contact; Wire cut or short-circuited; Defective heater element; Continuous heating for 80+ minutes without stopping

What actually causes this:

Shorted heater element, stuck heater relay, or defrost sensor failure preventing cutoff

First Thing to Check

Check heater resistance between CN70 Brown and Black after unplugging unit

How to Fix

  1. 1

    Separate MAIN PCB CN70 wire and check resistance between CN70 Brown and Black wires

  2. 2

    If resistance is 0 ohm, heater is shorted

  3. 3

    If resistance is infinite, wire or thermal fuse is open

  4. 4

    Check defrost sensor temperature is below -5°C before defrost and above 10°C after
