What This Means

Connector Slipped-Out or Open-Contact; Wire Cut or Short-Circuited; Defective Thermistor; Heater keeps heating beyond 80 minute limit

What actually causes this:

The fridge defrost heater circuit failed or is stuck in the on position.

First Thing to Check

Check the defrost heater for continuity across both wire terminals.

How to Fix

  1. 1

    Separate MAIN PCB CN70 wire from PCB

  2. 2

    Read resistance between CN70 White and Black connectors

  3. 3

    If 0 Ohm: heater is shorted

  4. 4

    If infinite Ohm: wire or thermal fuse is open

  5. 5

    Check defrost sensor voltage during cycle
