Error Code R5
Condenser fan motor is not operating or feedback signal lost
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: R5 (R-ROOM STEP 5 LED blinking)
What This Means
Defective BLDC condenser fan motor; Contact problem at MAIN PCB CN75 terminals #5 and #6 or CN30 #1; Contact problem at condenser fan motor connector; Defective motor wire harness
What actually causes this:
Failed condenser fan motor or wiring/connector fault at CN75; dust blockage in machine compartment
First Thing to Check
Measure DC voltage between MAIN PCB GND and CN75 #5
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Run Self-Diagnosis to confirm C-FAN error (R5)
- 2
Verify compressor is off
- 3
Measure DC voltage between MAIN PCB GND and CN75 #5 (should read DC 7~12V when commanded on)
- 4
Check if voltage alternates between DC 7~12V (CN75 #5) and less than DC 2V (CN30 #1)
- 5
Run Forced Operation
- 6
If fan operates in forced operation, replace MAIN PCB
- 7
If fan does not operate in forced operation, replace motor or check connector/wiring at CN75 #5, #6 and CN30 #1
