What actually causes this:
The door has sagged on its hinges over time, so the latch does not align with the lock

Inspect the door for sagging — if the door hangs lower on one side, the hinges may need adjustment

6. Check door switch resistance: Type 2 pins 2 and 3 approximately 60-90 ohm (with slider pushed); Type 3 pins 2 and 3 approximately 65-75 ohm (with slider pushed)
