What actually causes this:

The heating element or temperature sensor has failed

First Thing to Check

Turn the washer off, wait 30 seconds, and restart — if the error returns, it needs service

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Check for connection between wire and heater

  2. 2

    2. Measure heater resistance — should read 16.05 plus or minus 0.65 ohms

  3. 3

    3. If heater is faulty, replace it

  4. 4

    4. If heater tests normal, check the wash-thermistor at the back of the tub

  5. 5

    5. If the wash-thermistor has a functional error, replace it

  6. 6

    6. If both heater and thermistor test normal, replace the Main PBA
